With the Shared Distribution the files are from another computer and
there is no need for them on the computer you are updating, hence
about 1/2 the space requirement.
SP1 is installed form the share and only the necessary files are
downloaded and installed.

Both options have the option of uninstalling SP1 as long as you choose
to save the files during installation.

The more time passes with SP1 installed the more problematic uninstall
seems to be presumably because of later registry entries etc from
new/updated applications.
You should know in a short time if you are having issues with SP1.
If SP1 is installed for a long time, it is best to not uninstall it.

Hi, Reading the article regarding to the Space Requiered
downloading SP1 from:
a.- A Shared Distribution Folder on a Network
b.- Windows XP SP1 Web site
I found that the main difference is that the first one
doesn´t contain files allocated on Windir%
\Servicepackfiles folder).
1.- What are this fles for?
2.- Why this kind of downloading (from a Shared Dbn'
folder on a Network) doesn´t have these files?
3.- If I decided to remove Win XP SP1 after a long period
of time, is any way to do it just by the pannel for ad or
remove programs or it would be neccesary to download the
files for uninstalling it? If so...where could I get this
fles? (please if you know give me the name and the
allocation for this file).
Regards...Evad.
Regards...Dave.
