    I have dial up also, and I found that they place the
    files in the internet temp file. Not sure if they do
    this on everyones computer, but you can check.

    Click Tools..Internet Options..General Tab.. Temporary
    Internet Files Settings button..view files

    This brings up the temp folder. Look for an address
    like..
    http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/....

    this should be it. pick the file/files and copy them.
    Paste them in another folder (my documents, etc..) You
    know have the file.

    This worked for me. Maybe for you two. Using the update
    catalog was way too tedious.
