worm virus help

    Hi, I'm not too computer literate. My girlfriends new
    laptop has the newest norton antivirus, which denies the
    file that has the w32.welchia worm, and I've got a
    removal tool to get rid of it, but I need to know how to
    prevent it from getting on in the first place. Any help
    would be appreciated.
