Was this a 'driver' update for your wireless card or a generic XP update.
The version of TCP/IP should not affect any communications since the Wi-Fi
bit is pretty much transparent to the TCP/IP protocol.

Anyone having problems with their LinkSys wireless
connection since XP updated the TCP/IP to Version 6?
My wireless can't communicate with the router. I need an
XP patch of some how go back to TCP/IP version 4.
