Cannot log into terminal services from Vista workstation

I have a 2003 terminal server that has been working fine with XP Pro clients.
I added a Vista client recently and when I try to connect I only see a
portion of the Log On to Windows authentication window and am not able to
enter the password. The only thing unusual about this installation is I am
using a non-standard port for TS. Is using a non-standard the issue here? The
Vista client can connect to an XP client just fine.
