Re: Printing to local IP bases printer

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Yes, of course. But then you're taking printing completely out of
TS, and it's not automatic either. If you feel that that is fine,
why are you posting here at all?

Your original question was how to automatically give users access
to their local printer when connecting with TS, and I've given you
the answer in my first reply (map the drivers).

But maybe I'm misunderstanding what you want to achieve? Is there
anything in my proposed solution that doesn't solve your problem?

I know that.. but if I open 631 and on my server make a
connection to the remote printer which is local for the user
then when they are in a TS session they will have it has a
printer. :)

I know I can solve the problem by opening ipp 631 on the
client firewall

No, that wouldn't help you at all.
Port 631 is used by the Internet Printing Protocol, which is
not used when you redirect local printers inside an rdp
session. Printer redirection in rdp uses a virtual channel and
goes over the standard 3389 port.
