Check this FAQ:
When users start a program, they get an error message: "Windows
cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have
the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Here is an odd situation. I have a Win2003 Server Std. with AD installed. I just installed a new Terminal Server and joined it to the domain, then left the building. From a remote location I RDP into the Terminal Server, logging into the domain. I am attempting to install an application which lives on the main Server 2003 std. When I double-click the setup.exe I get the following error:.
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the apropriate permissions to access the item."
The odd thing is that if I log off my RDP session to the term serv, then RDP back in to the LOCAL machine (not the domain) I can install that app over the network just fine. Any ideas?
Do not know if this matters or not but I have NEVER logged into the Terminal Server from the console, just remotely.
Thanks!
