In Windows 2003, a user session will see printers from other sessions in these 3 cases:
• If the user belongs to “Administrators” group or
• If the user belongs to “Power Users” group or
• If the 2 sessions were connected with the same user name
If the user does not need administrative privileges, you might want to consider removing them from the “Administrators” and “Power Users” group.
Closing the terminal session by clicking the cross will also clean up the printers.
So, clean logoff or clean disconnect is not needed to clean up the printers.

Good Day
Please can someone help, i have a Windows 2003 server with around 50 users
connecting to it, sometimes the TS will keep their printers from previous
sessions, so it will show two printers eg: HP1018 in session 10 and HP1018 in
session 12 , i think this maybe from the users being disconnected if the line
drops, or maybe if they close the terminal sever session by clicking on the
cross at the top of the screen instead of logging off correctly by going,
start - logoff.
Another problem that happens is that quite often it will show all the
printers on the server instead of just the users printers.
So i was wandering if there was a way to stop the server from keeping old
printer sessions and if there is a way for the server not to show everyones
printers.
Thanks very much for any suggestions.
