Simply connect to the console session and then you won't take up licenses.

Thanks, I was hoping not to have to dip into my Applications TS Licenses
for administration, I think I will put a limit to end the disconnected
sessions. Thank you everyone for your help in this matter!!!

You need to put the server into application mode. This is done through
Add/Remove programs. you do not want Remote Administrator (or normal
server functionality). You will also want to download the free technical
guide from Brian Madden's website (http://www.brianmadden.com) so you can
learn what is terminal services and how to administer it. It is not like
any other server you've administered before.

Yes, the problem is that I need to have 4 people connect but no more
than 1 or two at any given time. And the users would like thier
sessions saved..

In addition: in Windows 2003, you can as Administrator connect to the
console session and so avoid using a license.
Type mstsc /console.

Win2k3 does not support that anymore. It is done dynamically
now by the OS. Besides remote admin mode and application mode
are not supported together.

I seem to remember that the registry key IdleWinStationPoolCount
handled the idle sessions, so that i could have idle sessions
and still have the ability to connect while under Terminal
Services Remote administration mode. It does not seem to be the
same on windows 2003. How can I change this in server 2003?
