Re: Connecting to TS Server

First, you didn't answer the other questions. Again, what state is the
session in on the server and are there any errors in the logs? Also, have
you tried disabling any anti-virus or firewalls on the servers? Are the
users able to telnet to 3389 during this time? Ping the servers?

Second, you have absolutely confirmed that the logoff process is complete
before the users try to connect back in? You've checkd the consoles? Just
because the user see's nothing on their end doesn't mean the session is
logged off yet. It simply means the window was closed on the end point.

you are correct this is not normal of users. but say i need to change
access
to a folder or change a group police, then they need to log off and
reconnect. the issue is not why we need to do this but more the fact that
we
cannot do this for what ever reason we have. as for the sessions they are
logging off not disconnecting so the sessions are ended.

hope this helps

Why are they disconnecting and then immediately reconnecting? What are
they
trying to do exactly? that's not typcial behaviour even for users. Are
you
sure they are disconnecting? during this time is the session in a
disconnect state or active state? Any errors in the logs on the server?

the problem i am having is reconnecting to the TS immediately after
disconnection, or/and trying to connect two times from a remote
location.

a little more detail on the setup. this is a multi site setup. servers
and
users at the main site and users at remote sites. 3 remote sites 1 with
a
vpn
tunnel 2 with no vpn tunnel. all users have thin client machines (no
pc's).
all users can connect and use the app on the TS, works great, but -
when a
user at a remote site logs out and then immediately tries to reconnect
they
cannot and receive a network time out error. after about 5 min. they
are
able
to reconnect.
one remote site with vpn tunnel has 2 thin clients, they do not have
problems connecting both thin clients to TS. one remote site has no vpn
and
they are unable to connect 2 thin clients. one remote site no vpn 1
thin
client no problem connecting. The only problem is reconnecting or
connecting
2 thin clients from no vpn site
i use rpd to both servers for admin and also have the same problem
reconnecting to both servers.

Thank you in advance.
Dave
