Re: One more serial port redirection question

Vera,

Thanks. I found the group policy editor and those settings are listed under
Terminal Services. Now, COM port redirection was set to Not Configured.
This should be set to Disabled, correct?

There should be 10 different settings under "Client/Server data
redirection", assuming you run 2003 SP2:

"Allow Time Zone Redirection"
"Do not allow clipboard redirection"
"Do not allow smart card device redirection"
"Allow audio redirection"
"Do not allow COM port redirection"
"Do not allow client printer redirection"
"Do not allow LPT port redirection"
"Do not allow drive redirection"
"Do not set default client printer to be default printer in a
session"
"Terminal Server Fallback Printer Driver Behavior"

Seems you need to update your .adm template files.

This question actually comes from a post from Vera Noest:

The local (or a domain) policy should contain this settings
tree: "Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates -
Windows Components - Terminal Services - Client/Server data
redirection"

I checked our local policy and under Terminal Services -
Client/Server data redirection, the only thing listed is Allow
Audio Redirection. For serial redirection, should there be
something else? And if so, what and how do I add it?

Thanks,

.
