Re: Printers Not Transferring Over for One Client

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

You have mentioned below that the partner environment has Win 2003.

What is the OS version of their client machine which is connecting to your TS server? Is that also Win 2003?

Also, what are the ports on which the client's printers are connected. Is it LPT/COM or USB or are they network printers on the client side?

Hello--

Here are the answers to your questions. I hope they help resolve this
because we have two TS on our network and one is working fine, but this new
one will not map printers.

The only relevant event log I can see says, "...network name cannot be found"

If I go to add a printer manually on the TS, and I choose local printer, and
when I try to choose a port on the drop down the list, the only ports
available are The LPT ports, The COM Ports, The TS033-035 show inactive TS
port. There is nothing associated with the connected client's computer name,
etc.--only the default ports are listed.

Also, I checked our firewall settings and the rule for the first TS that is
working fine is identical to the second TS rule.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any logs in the Event Viewer regarding why the printers were not
redirected?

Also, I didnt quite get this line:
"When we try to manually add a printer from the remote session logged on as
the client, the "drop-down list" does not even show their TS session."

Are you able to add the printer on the session and point it to the
redirected COM or LPT port to which it is connected in the client side? What
does this "drop down list" display ?
