RE: net use

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Neither of these suggestions apply I suspect. The technet article recommends
removing a key that wasn't there. The MountedDevices key is there and has a
number of cryptic entries, beginning
\??\Volume-{1c141f5f-b76d-11da-be24-001422116997} as a Reg_Binary key.

Any other ideas?

| Hi,
|
| I've tried all the solutions suggested, here's what happened.
|
| I removed A-V altogether and tried to delete the drive, no joy. I removed
| the Mountpoints2 registry branches, they just came back. (I removed them
from
| all users, including default). In the end I started hacking the registry.
| Everywhere I found the entry for the erroneous server mapping, I
corrected
| it. I removed all references to the previous domain and old servers.
|
| I now have the correct drive mapped to the n: drive. However, I still
cannot
| disconnect the drive, and it still shows up as "Disconnected Network
drive"
| instead of "sharename on server", so it's still far from perfect.
|
| I would love some advice on how to resolve this complex problem. Having
said
| that, I would understand if this was beyond the scope of this discussion
| forum. I have searched the web, and while many have had the problem, I
have
| found no answers as yet. It is certainly a complex problem. It seems
Windows
| did not cope well with moving from an NT4 SBS domain to a 2003 domain,
and
| that the servers changed name as well. Whilst not everyone would have
done
| this maneouvre, Windows should have coped with it, but hasn't. The
servers
| were only months old at this time.
