I'm fascinated that you have an IT department, but you can set up your own servers...

hehehe I've gotten quite a few questions about that. Our IT department is mainly a bunch of gear heads who know who to swap out harddrives and assemble computers. We have two network guys (one of them even Cisco certified) and that is basically it. We have one guy who's job title is System Admin and another who is a DBA. Neither of these people are qualified at all. On top of that, they are a pretty small group who are spread thin. They really aren't supposed to be doing much for me. I was hired away from a large insurance company. I'm a programmer by trade but I do know a lot about setting up computers with Server 2003 (I even build several computers in a year for myself and friends...). The one area I don't know much about is: Terminal Services! At least regarding the setup and maintenance of it. I've received some bad advice from the IT department and am now having to "fix" some things. One of them has to do with Terminal Services and licenses. The questions I'm asking are research which will be used to redo some items at our sites (two water filtration plants and waste water facility).

Thanks for the info!!
