What print driver is being used? Have you tested it for compatibility

We have had a problem recently and I hope someone on this group can
help out: a remote user has been running a custom application on the
terminal server for about a year now and recently, twice, when he
started printing from that application to his (local) printer the
application would become very slow. He would eventually be able to
shut the application down and log off the server, but, when he would
try to log back on all he would get was a desktop with no icons. The
minimize and disconnect buttons worked OK, but no icons. Rebooting
the server fixed the problem.
Any ideas?

Jeff,
Thanks for the advice, although, it may be moot now: the user is going
to upgrade to a new computer with MS Vista. Maybe my problem will go
away, maybe not....
