I know, but you didn't specify which settings you changed, so I
just wanted to make sure that you were changing more than only
Device Settings.
I was about to write the usual warning about TS incompatible
drivers, especially for such multi-tasking printers/faxes/scanners,
but the Xerox Workcentre 238 has actually a WHQL driver which
supports Terminal Server implementations.
I can't explain why it doesn't work as it should, but I can think
of a workaround:
Configure the printer on the server, export the
AutoPrinterCacheData to a .reg file, and import this file in your
login script. Not elegant, but I have been using this for some
printers in years without negative side effects.
But since the vendor supports the driver under TS, I would call
Xerox as well and try to get a real solution from them.

Hi Vera,.
thanks for the reply.
Like I said in the first post the solution in 243942 works just
for the Laserjet, but not for the Xerox printer.

Situation:
Users connect to a Windows 2003 terminal server using the RDP
5.1 client. 2 Printers are locally installed; a HP Laserjet 4
and a Xerox Workcentre 238.
When I make some changes on the default printer settings from
the HP Laserjet the settings stays persisent after logging of
and logging in using the following trick:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/243942
In the register on the local pc the following key will be
added: \\hkey_current_user\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR\HP Laserjet\AutoPrinterCacheData
But when I make some changes to the Xerox Workcentre, the
changes will not be persistent when I log out and log in.
In the register the following key will be added:
\\hkey_current_user\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR\Xerox Workcentre\
But without the AutoPrinterCacheData, and at this place the
changes will be placed. So it looks like the changes of the
Workcentre are not beeing pushed to the client
Please help.
Thanks
