Re: Copy and Paste does not work well...

Suggestion 1:
Yes I'm a member of the group, if the server has one (Some are DCs which them I'm a member in the Domain Group). Like I said it happen on any server that I'm connected with. Though happens more frequently when I have multiple RDP Sessions open at once.

Suggestion 2:
So telling me I can only be connected to 1 or two remote sessions at once and that I can only stay connected for less then an hour. Um right..... Why would I want to start up all my apps get what I need open only in time to log off and start all over again? Thats like taking cross country Drive but only being able to drive the car for an hour at a time...

Reference:
KB 306885 seemd to pertain to files, I'm jsut copying text from a command prompt or notpad or IE

Hello Scott,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, I'd like to provide you with the following suggestions:

Suggestion 1:
================
First, please check if the user account belongs to the Remote Desktop users
group. You may follow these steps to check:

1. Click Start\Run and type compmgmt.msc to open Computer Management.
2. Expend to Local Users and Groups.
3. Double click Remote Desktop Users and check if the user is listed in the
members list.
4. If not, please click Add button to add it and then reboot the machine to
test the issue.

Suggestion 2:
================
In addition, as far as I know, the copy/paste behavior is based on the
process rdpclip.exe. You can open Task Manager in remote console to see the
process. If you end it, all copy/paste will not able to work.

Actually, sometimes Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v cannot work properly in remote
console. Generally, we recommend our customers use Ctrl+Alt+End to logoff
the current user account, then re-establish the remote desktop connection,
Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v may work again.

| Okay I get the whole viewer chain idea and the loop and killing
| rdpclip.exe...
|
| Explain to me why when using the mouse to right click on the text (oh,
yeah
| I'm almost always copying just plain text) select copy, after the 4th or
so
| time it works.
|
| If the Viewer chain is messed up or rdpclip is gone south, is there some
| process that gets it on the clipboard after several attempts to copy the
| same items?
