The sound is rendered by a virtual device, you don't need a sound
card in the server at all.
Audio quality in rdp is not configurable, and not very good. It's OK
for system sounds and beep, but don't use it for streaming video.
Audio quality in Citrix is configurable in 3 levels, with different
bandwidth usage, and the quality is much better.
But before you make any investments, be sure to test it!

I have a Windows 2003 server running terminal services. I can.
get sound ok on my terminal client machine but it lags
especially when playing videos clips. Is it because of the sound
card that's in the server or is there another setting I need to
check to sync both video and sound? Thanks.

Kurt
