RE: Terminal server Fax driver...

OK, that's a pitty, but at least you know that you can stop
troubleshooting.
Thanks for letting us know the results, Mark!

Hello,

I managed to talk to the developer. They said "it's not going
to work with Terminal services".

Rats!

Thanks for the help!

'att & Vera,

Thanks for the help.

Since its just like a printer driver, I can't see that it would
act any differently that a normal printer driver. It's just
calling the browser at http://ipaddress_of _the _machine

I'll check out the "session 0" thing.

I do not believe this driver was installed with the TS in
"install mode". Could this be a problem?

Thanks much,

Mark

Sounds like a classical TS incompatibility to me.
If it's hardcoded to show the browser page in session 0,
there's not much you can do, other than talk to the developer
/ vendor.

Matt,

It's not a faxing service. It is a fax driver that
installs just like a printer driver (MS fax) that uses an
HTTP interface for authentication and to fill out the fax
cover *** fields, attach files, etc.

I "PRINT" to the fax driver that is installed on the
Terminal Server (and shows up in the TS sessions printers)
and it opens an HTTP browser page by the IP address of the
Fax machine. The fax has a built in "server" so to speak.

The browser page opens on the TS main console, and not in
the session.

Thanks much,

Mark

I have no experience with the online faxing driver and
terminal server, but the one thing that comes to mind is
if you have the driver installed on the local machine and
on the TS sever, and the printer is set to bring in your
default from the local, it could be printing on the local
machine instead of the remote desktop. This seems like a
long shot, but it is the only thing that comes to mind.

Any help from the company that runs the faxing service?

Hello,

MS 2003 server with Terminal services.

I have installed a fax driver on the TS, which opens a
browser window (http driven) to a login screen and to
fill in the fax details to send the document via fax
through Tcp/IP to our company fax machine.

If I'm logged into a TS session (not on console itself)
and select the fax driver, it opens the browser on the
console session, not in the TS session.

I have no clue why. I have added the URL in the trusted
intranet site zone on the TS session, but it still does
not work.

Any ideas how to get this to open on the session and not
the console? Install mode issue maybe?

Thanks much,

Mark
