The best solution is not to do autoupdates at all. That is typically a recipe for disaster. It's not like MS has never made a mistake with a hotfix especially concerning terminal services.

Way too messy I think..
I have configured Windows Updates settings to allow auto download but is required notify before installing updates. I have enabled the policy to only allow logged on administrators to install updates, hopefully this should remove non admin terminal users from any prompts.

Hi,
Deny users access to C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe using
NTFS permissions. Make sure that Administrators are not a
member of the group so that the reminders will still show for
admins. For example, you could create a Deny Full Control entry
for the Remote Desktop Users group.

I have configured using group policy all the usual settings like
users not being able to shutdown the terminal server etc
I have wsus running on my network, Windows XP and 2003 machines.
But when users remote into the terminal server and updates have been
installed, they get the Windows Update Restart now or Restart Later
prompt but both buttons are greyed out requiring users to move this
out of the way until the server is restarted.
Is there anyway I can completely stop this prompt occuring on users
terminal sessions?
Cheers
