Re: TS on a domain controller

I was hoping to spark a bit of discussion regarding TS, AD, and relevant
security. What do you all think about the benefits of user management from
AD and running TS from the same box? Do the benefits of AD justify the
risk? I have no intention of relying on the OS for the safety of the
machine/network. It's server 2k3 enterprise (SR1). The only purpose of the
box is to provide centralized and remote access to certain company
applications. There is no need for a DC other than the management features
of AD and, specifically, GPO/GPE. Can these be implemented without the
security risks inherent to AD and TS being on the same box?

I am deploying a server for the purpose of remote access. I read that TS
running on a domain controller poses security risks. I like the user
control that active directory allows though. Any thoughts? Running Server
2003 (R1)
