To troubleshoot the logon process you can enable this setting:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/221833/en-us This logs every bit of the
logon process with time stamps so you can see where the delay is.

Hi,
Last week i got my new w2k3 r3 TS ready and everybody now is using it. All
goes well, but i'm troubled by the extended logon time: it looks like the
logon time of every user has doubled. Should i configure something i've
forgotten?
For Windows 2000 we have the administrative template / system scripts / Run
logon scripts synchronously } enabled. Could this be the cause --> that
Windows 2003 r2 has a problem with that?
