Re: Trying to set so that only the client's default printer is map

Sorry, by global I just meant using HKLM as root as opposed to HKCU.

All you should have to do is create the last few keys of:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR

then add the value specified.

This is a client side fix, as specified in the support instructions you
linked.

Where would the global settings be? I was under the impression that this
registry change was on the client, not the server - Was I mistaken?

The key only exists if there is a global setting for printers in the
first
place. Have you tried creating the necessary keys (Default\AddIns\RDPDR)
then following the instructions listed?

Hi,

I'm trying to set up our Windows 2003 Terminal Server so that when a
client
logs in, they only see their default printer. I found the following
instructions from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911913 ,
but
I
don't have the registry subkey in my client (which is also a windows
2003
server, but without TS enabled).

MS wants me to modify HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Terminal
Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR but I only have
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\IME
Mappint
Table and then JPN and KOR under that.

Is there a reason I'm missing this key? Is there a better way to take
care
of what I need accomplished? The clients connecting to the TS will
primarily
be on XP SP2.

Thanks,
Matt
