Yup, I've been following that thread too, and have tried the registry settings without any luck. And had tried emailing those in the tread to see if they had gotten rid of the adsl, without any luck.
It's tough to recommend a T1(that's the only option besides ADSL at this location) for my company at a greater cost and then potentially still have the problem.
I'm sortof positive it's the ADSL, just want to be 99.999% sure before I tell management, Yes, we need T1.
Thanks!

I have noticed that when I am using Admin Tools, Remote Desktops, my session gets hung too, even though I am in the same building as the TS.
Our remote users are on an ADSL 1.5/384 connection with Watchguard firewalls handling the VPN.
Any help/thoughts is appreciated!!

I have tried.
Most likely (80% sure), that the problem is inherent in the ADSL
PPPOE protocol. I am not a network guru, but common sense tells me
that if I have no problems with any other types of connection and
only ADSL PPPOE connections, it must be the ADSL.

welcome to VPN connections and all of its wonderful issues.
Below are my server notes when using ADSL clients connecting to our VPN.
You can try changing these settings, maybe they will work for you.
I still have problems. The kicker is, when users have Cable, Partial
T1 or SDSL connections, I have NO problems whatsoever.
If "failure is not an option", tell them to stop being so cheap and get
a real connection (Partial T1 or SDSL). Sorry, that was mean but it
will solve your problems immediately. I always tell my clients about
ADSL problems up front.

Value = 1472
May try adding theses next few keys in the future
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\KeepAliveInterval
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\KeepAliveTime
Check this link
http://terminal.servebeer.com/php/flaky_connections.php
Decided to add the other two keys to the registry.
KeepAliveInterval
Value = 1000
KeepAliveTime
Value = 7200000
Added Hot fix from KB89806 on MS support website for W2K3 SP1
This is suppose to help with the PathMTUDiscovery protocol and it
hitting the 1000 limit.
Changed -
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\"InterfaceID"
Added Value Type – DWORD
Name = MTU
