I highly doubt your going to be able to unless, possibly, the scanner is
seen as a com port device. I'm not even sure the RD client for PPC can
redirect com ports. I think your going to be stuck unless the developer of
the PDA can help you in some way.

Yeh sorry about that, I'll fill in the gaps for you.
The scanner (http://www.socketcom.com/product/IS5024-608.asp) is in the CF
slot on a Trimble Recon PDA. The PDA has an embedded wifi for network
connectivity and is running PPC2005
The user establishes a terminal services session via wifi to use their
app. Once they have the TS application up, they then operate the barcode
scanner.
Since we cannot get the scanner data into the TS session, I installed the
"Terminal Services Web Access" component on the TS server.
My thinking for this was that I could establish a TS session via the IE
browser on the PDA, and then hopefully the IE browser might accept the
data from the scanner (being a local app) and pump it back to the TS
application.
So I did that and tested TSweb from a workstation first and logged in
fine. I did notice that an activeX component was installed when first
connecting.
Now when I tried that from the PDA, the activeX component was not
installed (nor prompted to install, I'm guessing because of the ppc2005
o/s) and I believe that is my problem on the PDA = No Terminal Services
ActiveX Client for PPC2005
You mentioned that I would need to develop a virtual channel and software
for it to work via the TSclient, unfortunately thats beyond my
capabilities.
So I'm still trying to figure out a way to get the scanner data back to
the TS application.

Maybe I'm not understanding what your looking for. Is this scanner on a
com port? If the scanner is aprt of the pda how are you testing it on a
PC? I'm confused and feel I'm missing something.

Looks like I need MSRDP.OCX for PPC2005, but cant seem to find one.

Thanks for your reply.
I have just enabled TSWEB on the server and from an XP desktop PC it
works well.
However from Pocket PC 2005 in the IE browser, the drop-down "size" box
is empty and the "connect" box is grayed out.
Any idea's on that one?
Many thanks
Is there some IE s/w component missing from PPC2005

Hi all
I have a Trimble PDA PPC2005 and a "Socket" Barcode scanner in the CF
slot ( & internal wifi nic for network connection)
Capturing the barcode information into a local PDA app works fine.
However, it will not capture info via a terminal services session
Is this a TS limitation? idea's anyone
Cheers.
