Re: barcode scanner via Terminal Services

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Maybe I'm not understanding what your looking for. Is this scanner on a com
port? If the scanner is aprt of the pda how are you testing it on a PC?
I'm confused and feel I'm missing something.

Thanks for your reply.

I have just enabled TSWEB on the server and from an XP desktop PC it
works well.

However from Pocket PC 2005 in the IE browser, the drop-down "size" box
is empty and the "connect" box is grayed out.

Any idea's on that one?

Many thanks

Is there some IE s/w component missing from PPC2005

You would have to develop a virtual channel and software to capture that
information and send it to the terminal server.

Hi all

I have a Trimble PDA PPC2005 and a "Socket" Barcode scanner in the CF
slot ( & internal wifi nic for network connection)

Capturing the barcode information into a local PDA app works fine.

However, it will not capture info via a terminal services session

Is this a TS limitation? idea's anyone

Cheers.
