Re: System Error (1003) - 0x000000CB

I assume that you run 2003, with SP1 and the latest updates,
including non-security patches?
This is unfortunately not the type of problem that is easily
solvable in a newsgroup. I would call Microsoft Support.

Right I have disabled the automatic reboot so that I can have a
look at the BSOD and unfortunatley everything which was on the
screen is what you already have, so I am still in the dark,
found another message in the event viewer today which states
that it realises that there is a device driver that is leaking
i/o and tracking has been enabled to find the culprit, but still
no joy.

Someone help!

Hi Vera

I shall disabled the auto-reboot after bug check and see what,
if anything I can find out about what is happening.

Here's the explanation of STOp error code 0x000000cb:

Bug Check 0xCB: DRIVER_LEFT_LOCKED_PAGES_IN_PROCESS

The DRIVER_LEFT_LOCKED_PAGES_IN_PROCESS bug check has a value
of 0x000000CB. This indicates that a driver or the I/O
manager failed to release locked pages after an I/O
operation.

You might want to configure your servers to *not*
automatically reboot when a critical error occurence, and
check if the driver name is included on the BSOD.

A call to Microsoft Support seems appropriate.

I would like some help please into finding out what is
making one of our Terminal Servers randomly reboot itself
without warning, having debugged the memory dumps I find
that the faulting application is Outlook.exe but we had
another reboot occur today and I find that this is related
to afd.sys, wondered if anybody could shed some light on
the subject as we have two terminal servers in a cluster
both of them using identical hardware and software.
