About the best place would be http://msdn.microsoft.com. the examples
aren't great though. Benny Tritsch did a session at TechEd this year in
Boston on programming for TS as well which included some good sample code
and other tidbits as well.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, we're looking at 'plugging some holes' in the signal
footprint in the warehouse - but the main problem seems to be the
dynamicity
of the footprint as pallets are moved around and forklifts move by etc.
These
pallets contain liquids such as shampoos and lotions etc and are more
dense
than typical structure walls. We're going to dedicate at least one antenna
to
each aisle, from above, to see if this helps saturate the warehouse
better.
The idea would be for the users to see real-time signal strength at any
give
time.
How do I find more information on creating a virtual channel?
Thanks again,
~ Ralph

Absolutely but you would have to design it yourself. You would create a
virtual channel and then have a program send the information from the
client
to the server and then modify the program to display the information. No
there wouldn't be any way of simply 'enabling' something.
Wouldn't it simply be easier to add a couple of access points to get rid
of
the weak areas?

Here's an interesting one!
Server: Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server (dedicated)
Clients: Handheld Scanners; Windows CE.NET V4.2 running RDP clients
(802.11G)
Clients connect via RDP to Navision ERP system for processing sales
orders
etc.
User boots to restricted desktop locked down by proprietary application
on
handheld. Desktop contains two choices (buttons):
1) Launch Navision RDP Client (preconfigured parameters auto-connects
to
TS)
2) Launch local application that displays real-time radio signal
strength
information
SEE WHERE I'M GOING WITH THIS?
Due to areas of weak signal strength, and footprint fluctuations within
the
always-changing, pallet-moving warehouse environment, some transactions
fail
because the user is not aware he/she is in a weak signal area. We need
a
way
for the user to be able to monitor the current LOCAL signal strength at
any
given time from within the TS session. It doesn't help to allow the
session
to run in a non-full-screen window, because as soon as the user clicks
to
minimize the TS session window he gets the following: "This connection
to
the
remote computer was broken because you logged into the computer
locally."
Sooo... Is there ANY way a RDP session can include a local application
window- or even just streaming data integrated into a TS window from
the
local client??
MANY TIA,
