Re: Cannot print from terminal server

Hi,

Can you check 2 more things:
1. Login as some other user to the particular local computer you mentioned below in Toronto and TS to the server - are the printers redirected ?
2. Login as the particular user name you mentioned below, from some other local computer in Toronto and TS to the server - are the printers redirected ?

This will help narrow down on whether it is a user account issue or computer name issue.

Hi Thany you for your response on that

I tried doing as per your advice, i did check that before and sorry i forgot
to mention. But strangely enough i do see that within the security tab the
user name for terminal server for the person who needs to be logged in to the
local computer is there. A group is alos added "terminal power users" which
is belive has all the terminal user.

Just to make this more clear to you in my previous email i mentioned the
person who needs to be logged in, needs to be logged in to teh local computer
with his domain user name and password for Toronto Office. And then anyone
from that coupter can log in to terminal server. Only then we will be able to
see the printer and session will indicate printername/computername/session#
which belogs to this particular computer.

Therefore i have a funny feeling that the printer is attached to the
computer name.

Please help

Hi,

Do the other users who login from the Toronto machines have "Print" and
"Manage Documents" permission on this printer ?
You can verify the permissions in this location:
On the TS session, open Control Panel -> Printers -> <the redirected TCP/IP
printer> -> Right Click -> Properties -> Security

The user account would need "Print" and "Manage Documents" permission (at a
minimum) to print on the redirected printer.

Also, you might want to upgrade to RDP 5.2 if not already upgraded:
