Dell (= Lexmark) printers are a pain in a TS environment, which you
can verify when you search this newsgroup for them. If the printer
redirects at all (which it does, you say), then the port is not a
problem, it's the incompatible driver.
Uninstall the driver and map the printer to a HP LaserJet 4 driver,
or a generic Lexmark inkjet driver which comes with the OS,

I have a client that uses remote desktop and term servs into a.
terminal server 2000 machine. His printer shows up on every
connection and when he prints to it it shopws in the queue but
nothing prints. He has a Dell A960 which I know is
multifunction but it is installed on his USB port not on the
DOT4 port locally and bidirectional support is unchecked on the
client side (although it always is checked when I look at the
properties of his printer when he logs in). I did some research
and found a registry entry that I could add to teh client to
allow for all ports to be used but that registry entry did not
help things. I am at a loss here as I do not have any other
solutions and I have not found where Dell printers are not
supported. Conversly I have another client with a samsung
printer remoting in and hers works just fine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Matt
