I'm not sure if this helps, but check it out:
243942 - Terminal Services printer redirection not signaled on
change to server-side Device Settings tab in Windows 2000 or
Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=243942
Even if the above article fixes the problem with printer settings
not being saved, it will *not* enable different persons to save
different printer settings, since they all use the same user
account. So I hope that they all have exactly the same needs for
the printer settings.

Dear Drew
Thank You for the reply. Our Thin clients are running
Microsoft WINCE
4.10 OS Version to connect server using RDP 5.0 client. We
Configure Printers in the thin client using LPD server
option. Then at server ,we create LPR Port which points to the
Thin client and the LPD server Name configured .All the thin
clients are configured in such a way that they log on to the
server using same logon user name. When they Login ,they will see
the IE 6.0 Page and By clicking the short cut they will start
working.Since pagesetup is based on the default printer ,all
thin clients have server Default printer as default printer.so
every time user wants to print ,they have to check the
pagesetup, printer and form size according to their need.I need
to solve this issue without creating additional logon users

Hi,
My understanding of redirected printer settings is that they're
actually stored on client-side. So, if I understand your
scenario properly, you've got an lpr printer driver on your
thin client that's getting redirected to the server, where
users are setting pagesetup and such. If that's the case, the
settings should be stored once the user logs out and restored
at the next logon from that thin client. Is this correct?
Also, what are your thin clients running (and which version of
the RDP Client)? I think that may make a difference as far as
how print settings are stored.
Thanks,
Drew

In our office we are using Terminal Services on Win 2000
Server to access our
application. Our application runs on webserver. We are using
thin clients to connect server using rdb connection.we
configured in such a way that when the
user logs in it opens IE 6.0 page and by selecting option
they do the transaction .Our printers are connected to thin
clients and users access through Server Through lpr queue. Our
problem is when we want to print every
time we have to go to pagesetup in the IE and selecting the
printer,form size
,margins etc.since we use printer for DD,Term
deposit, passbook which needs appropriate forms size and all
margins to be zero for printing in the preprinted
stationary. Is there any way to assign Each Thin Client
default Pagesetup
so that when a user wants to print ,no need to set the
pagesetup
