Re: Roaming TS Profiles - Office Desktops Links

I have never heard of the issue you are describing. Perhaps I can help a
bit better if you can provide me with a little more detail on your setup and
the exact problem you are encountering.

What kind of links is the user creating? Are they shortcuts to the office
executables?
When does the user receive the error mentioned? Can we get exact repro
steps? Can we get the exact error text or error number?
What are the details of your profiles deployment? Are you using Folder
Redirection at all? How are the Roaming profiles configured? Via a GP?

We have 1 W2k3 SP1 WTS working comfortably and due to expansion want to
add a
2nd W2k3R2 WTS whilst keeping the active User Profiles. All fine, apart
from
the Desktop Links to Office Programms (Outlook, Word, Excel) - all other
Lionks are fine (Tobit, Lotus Organizer, documents etc.). The Desktop
Links
are simply copied from the "All Programms" Menü and Office is installed
oin
the same local path on each WTS-Server (D:\Programs\Office2k3).
When a User creates the Link on either server and logs off, as long as he
logs onto the same server the link stays - when he logs onto the other
server
the link is lost and he receives the error "this action is only valid for
installed prodicts" (or similar - I'm translating from german).
