Can't you schedule a reboot and configure the XP host to autologon
and start the application automatically?

We could. It is that this looked like a MS bug, one that was once solved
as suggested by the KB article, that I thought there could be another patch
for it. I've had profile unloading problems with XP for ever and there are
lots of patches for this, that if that is the case I'll just give up and
deal with it.
