Re: Terminal Server disconnects

The first thing I would do is make sure you can still access resources at
the central site. This is imperative in at least establishing that the link
is allwoing traffic. If that does work, then I would look at getting a
sniffer online and take a peak at the traffic and see what that tells you.

Thanks for the reply.

I have been in touch with the ISP and we even changed the internet
connections at both locations and it still happens. I have not tried to
get
to another server at the central site but I can browse the internet and
the
vpn logs show that the vpn is not going down.

I have also run a host monitor from a 3rd location to monitor the internet
connections it they never show as being down when this happens.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hello,

I have two sites, main office and a satellite office. The Windows 2003
TS
is
located in the main office and there is a VPN to the satellite office.
All
users are using thin clients or desktops with RDP client to connect.

The satellite office disconnects 3 times a day. Not always at the same
time
but within the same hour. Somtime between 10am and 11am, again at 2pm -
3pm
and once again around 5pm. This has been going on since before I
started
working on this. I have replaced the firewalls/vpn and both internet
connections and it still happens.

I can see nothing in event viewer that helps with this. When they get
disconnected they can usually just log right back in but sometimes they
have
to wait for a bit before TS will let them reconnect and the internet
always
works when this happens.

Any advice on where to look would be appreciated.

Thanks

JD
