Re: Using Local or Network printers on TS

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

This will work, so that their "local network printers" which are Novell, can
be printed to when they connect?

I was thinking that we needed to have the "windows network printers", which
are on my Print Server, install, on the TS. It's just, if one user installs
a printer, no other user sees that printer...

Thanks.

If the drivers are on the server, then enable autocreation of printers and
you should be all set. You shouldn't have to pre-create the printers
ahead of time for the users.

We have a TS running on Win2K3w/SP1. On our desktops, we use mainly
Novell Bindery Queue printers, but, are starting to add network printers
from our Win2K3w/SP1 print server.

On our TS, we're running several applications, and, are connecting the
users to them by running RDP sessions in application mode, so that all
they see is the application, not the TS' Desktop.

Question we have is how should we setup the printing for these
applications. All users are at work, normally using their networked
printers, and, for these particular users, we made sure that all their
default printers are on the Windows print server, not Novell.

We installed the Windows networked printers from our print server onto
the TS, but, it appears that they've only installed for that particular
user's profile. How can we get the printers to be visible to all users.

Also, should we just allow local printing, and, if using Novell...how
easy is that.

Thanks!
