Jeff, When I added it as \\server the wizard actually flipped it so that it
appears in the list as file://server ...so that did not address the problem??

Jeff, After receiving Vera's message I did add the server UNC to the
Intranet
Sites on IE on the Terminal Server. This had no affect on the problem as
I
said in my previous post. The message appears to be referring to the
app2.exe file itself. When I added the site to the intranet site's, I
added
\\server as Vera suggested. Should I have added \\server\share\app2.exe
instead??

Vera, Thanks for the prompt reply. I thought we had nailed this one,
but
after making the changes and trying it again I still get the same
warning
message. The warning message does say "unknown publisher", but it does
add:
" This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its
publisher." The file that it seems to be referring to is the client
application executable as in \\server\app2.exe , and once I clearn this
warning app2.exe seems to run flawlessly. Still I would like to
eliminate
the warning message. Also note that the first application at
C:\app1.exe
continues to run with no warning message???

UNC path unless the UNC path is added to the Local Intranet zone

\setup.exe, you must add \\server to the Local intranet zone.

Start Internet Explorer on the Terminal Server, go to Tools -
Internet Options - Security - Local Intranet zone. Add the UNC name
of the server where the application is located, something like
\\server.

Or configure this in a GPO:
User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet explorer
Maintenance
\Security zones and Content ratings
"Local intranet"

I'm a newbie, who has just installed a Terminal Server with 2
user applications. Both applications are activated by shortcuts
on the Remote Desktop. After some effort I have both app's
executing for my limited user base. However one of these app's
executes flawlessly, whilst the other app throws up a warning
message when activated "Open File - Secutity Warning ... blah
blah unknown puslisher" , but once the warning is cleared the
app executes just fine. We can continue to run this way, but I
would like to clear the warning. The only difference between
the two that I can see is that the app that has no warning has
the shortcut pointing to the C: drive as in starting point =
C:\app1.exe , and the app with a warning message starts from a
mapped drive as in K:\app2.exe where K: =
\\server\appShare\app2.exe .
I have tried changing various policies, but am not sure where
to turn?? Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
