Re: Mac and TS 2K

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks Jeff,

I am not sure if I actually have a license server in the domain.
I know I have the service installed on another Windows 2K machine that
used to be a Domain Controller and was demoted.

The service cant even start on that machine and is now disabled.
Do we actually need a License Server in the domain? Do we need to
purchase seperate license for the Mac users?

Does the fact that the domain controllers are in "Windows 2003 Mode"
make any difference?

Thanks again.

Hi,

We have a Windows 2K with Terminal server installed (I think
Application mode) as well as Citrix MetaFrame XP.

We recently installed 2 new Windows 2K3 domain controllers.

All Windows based computers are able to remote into the Windows 2K and
2K3 servers using RDP.
All Mac computers are able to remote into the 2 Windows 2K3 domain
controllers (using administrative account - for testing purposes)

None of the Mac computers is able to even initiate the RDP session with
the Windows 2K terminal server. (I tried 2 different servers in the
organization)

The error we get is: "Either remote connections are not enabled, the
maximum number of connections was exceeded, or a network error occured.
Try connecting later or contact your administrator"

We also get the following errors in Event Viewer:

Event 1004: "The terminal server cannot issue a client license. "

Event 1010: "The terminal services could not locate a license server.
Confirm that all license servers on the network are registered in
WINS\DNS, accepting network requests, and the Terminal Services
Licensing Service is running."

Event 1004 is generated every time we try to log in from a mac.
Event 1010 is being generated randomly.

Any idea?

Thanks!
