I demo'd all of the 3rd party solutions and I still experienced spooler
problems. I have informed my users not to attempt printing large documents
across the Wan, even though we have a 6meg connection. My superiors want me
to be able to control which drivers are used on the server. They want me to
tear down the windows printing and start over again and create 7 different
spooler files. Can this be Done? The printing is accounting information and
when a Print job from location A goes to B they just about tear my head
off.....I need to stop this. I hear that SP1 has a fall back driver, but the
accounting package we run does not yet work with SP1. I Used to have brown
hair and it has gone grey within 3 weeks help anyone>

No. User defined inf files are per server, and defined in the registry to
map printer drivers they way they were done in Citrix MetaFrame 1.8, i.e.
"Unsupported Driver" = "Compatible Built-in Driver"
If you simply what to restrict the server to using the drivers you define,
then you can load those and then restrict access to the ntprint.inf file, as
this is the file that's used to load printer drivers that came with the OS,
but haven't been loaded yet.
If you want an actual printing solution, you could use a product like
ThinPrint, triCerat Simplify Printing, Provision Networks Print-IT or
UniPrint, which are all driverless printing systems that use a lot less
bandwidth than the native PCL/PS data stream.

Can I create a inf file by OU? Here is the problem system crashes whit large
print job pending, when the system restarts that print job can print anywhere
besides the original location. This happened with a 1600 page document that
hung in the system, it was being printed from location A and after reboot it
printed in location B.

You could do this by user defined inf file, or by renaming or restricting
access to the ntprint.inf file.

The printer drivers that come built-into Windows are certified for TS and
safe, however there is no guarantee that 3rd party manufacturer drivers will
work or be stable.

Is there a way that I can control the drivers used in a TS environment. What
I want to do is make sure that users printers are not autocreated when they
login to TS. I want to manually map the drivers to the print device. This way
a printer can only be created by the administrator.
