RE: Profiles

Brilliant, thank you, I will backup first. When I redirect my docs to a
network share through group policy I get an error when logging on, something
like "cannot copy profile from server...". It might have something to do with
permissions, I checked my network share and it is enabled for everyone.
Under group policy config, I used the basic config and enabled all users
permission, any ideas?

I would recommend redirecting the My Documents folder to a Network Home.
Folder, instead of storing these items on the Terminal Server. This can be
accomplished with Group Policy.
You can either:
A. Create a Ghost Image of your System Drive, delete the partitions, Apply
Ghost Image back to the Drive and expand the system partition to use the
entire disk.
B. Resize the partition with a program like Server Magic.
Make a good backup before doing either of the two.

Thank you, good advice.
My server came with a partition of 12GB, and 220GB extended. I am worried
that the local user profiles will take up too much space on my C:, limited by
my 12GB, especially with desktop and my docs. Can I safely delete the
partition (it is on the same physical drive) and allocate it to the C:
without any side affects in order to increase space on the drive for my
profiles? Or else do you have another suggestion? The TS server will only
be used for programs and TS. Thanks in advance

1. NEVER use the same profile for Terminal Server and non-Terminal Server
logons. NEVER.
2. Profiles are downloaded to the local computer (in this case, the
Terminal Server)while in use, and copied back to the network location at
logoff.
3. You can enable DeleteRoamingCache and Install the User Profile Hive
Cleanup Service to delete the local profiles after they're copied to the
network at logoff.

when I specify a shared network location for the user profile under active
users.., for some reason when I logon to the TS server, it creates a user
profile on the system drive as well as on my shared network location. My TS
profile is set as the same as my user profile. How can I prevent this from
happening, perhaps this is why it is taking so long to logon?
