Win 2003 Server - Half Blank Login Screen

I have a windows 2003 server that I manage remotely using the /console
switch for terminal server. Have managed it this way for 2 years. A
few weeks ago when I logged onto it, I noticed that the login screen
was blank except for the top portion of the logon banner and the
cursor. But I could still type in my password and after that the
desktop was normal.
However, now I cannot log in. When I supply a good id/password, all I
can see is the little computer screen icon with the X in the window.
Like it's some sort of account locked error. However, I can still map
drives, etc as this user. And the window (or partial window) is
different when I purposefully use a bad id/pw.
I can still get to the event logs, but there is no event corresponding
to my failed logon attempt.
So, I have 2 issues here... The first is the funky screen thing. The
second is the logon. I've tried both my personal account and the
administrator account. This machine is a domain controller and the
only server in the domain and is running exchange server 2003, IIS,
etc.. Every service is still functioning. I just need to get to the
desktop for maintenance...
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
