Setting up separate machines for TS

I am new to TS and not really sure how it works. I have used PCAnywhere for
years. We have an application that requires TS to access from the Web and
just bought a 2003 server to run it.
We already have a Web Server and a domain set up on it. For example: lets
say Mars is our web server and Earth is our Terminal server.
Can I have the outside people access a Page on Mars to connect to Earth? Or
do I have to have IIS running on Earth (which would necessitate us creating
a new domain for the outside to access).
I am also thinking about security. Mars is in our DMZ, with a firewall
infront and behind it. It would be nice to put the terminal server behind
the 2nd firewall and outside of the DMZ. If we have to use IIS on the TS,
then Earth would need to be in the DMZ, also (I believe).
Also when a person connects to the Web page (whether on Mars or Earth) are
they always talking back and forth to that web server? or are they talking
directly to the TS (Earth).
Thanks,
Tom
