Re: Preventing users from shutting down system?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

If your users are Administrators, shutting down the server is about
the *best* they can do for your server.
Running a server with all users in the Administrator group is
ultimately going to corrupt your server beyond repair.

If you made your users Administrators because an application which
you installed (following all the normal installation rules,
including putting the server in install mode)! didn't run for
normal users, then you should solve that problem:

Download FileMon and RegMon from http://www.sysinternals.com/. Run
them as administrator (when no user is connected), start a TS
session as a normal user and try to run the application.

FileMon and RegMon will show you all "access denied" errors that
occur, so that you can give your users the necessary permissions on
a file-to file or Registry subkey basis.
