Vera,
Yes, it is anticipated that we will only deploy this VB application on
TS. So just to confirm are you saying that if I were to deploy this
application on TS where the SQL Server and the Terminal Server are on
the same LAN, that I could be anywhere in the world connecting in to TS
over a VPN that I can expect performance to be comparable to running
the application when I'm on the LAN? Network latency won't be an
issue? If that is the case then that's great news for me.
What are the main differences between the Remote Desktop Client and the
Remote Desktop Web Connection then i.e. why would I choose to use one
over the other? As I understand it they have the same functionality
except that the Remote Desktop Web Connection allows you to use it
within a browser. Does using the Remote Desktop Web Connection mean
that a VPN connection is therefore not needed and if so what about the
security implications. Would it mean that if I were to use it say at
an internet cafe that any subsequent user who accesses the same URL
would then be able to have access to the server?
.
