Remote desktop fails to connect only on one network connection

I have a windows 2003 that fails to allow me to connect to remote desktop. I
get the generic message saying it could not connect. I am however able to
connect via my backplane that I setup between servers for backup purposes so
I know remote desktop is working partially. I made sure the remote desktop
port was open, I really can't think of any thing else that would cause this.
I even installed sp1 and still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks,
Lincoln
