problems with domain controllers

A brief description of my setup is necessary before I ask my question.

This summer I set up a Terminal Server Farm that covers two buildings,
joined together via wireless. Each side has a domain controller (which
because of limited hardware also acts as a TS box), and a TS box, . On The
far side of the wireless one of boxes is set up as a domain controller, DNS
server, Terminal services, and Global catalog. the second box is strictly
for TS and apps, and does not have Active Directory installed.

I have the exact same setup on the near side. Each building uses their local
DC for DNS.

The wireless link has become unstable this week and I am hoping to have it
working properly next week sometime. Unfortunately, it has caused the
servers on the far side to all but collapse. They are acting like there is
not a domain controller to be found. I set it up this way for this very
reason, hoping if there was a problem with the link each building still
could plug away till the link was back up. Is this problem expected
behavior, or is something possibly setup wrong causing this? The domain
controller on the far side takes and excruciating amount of time to boot up
when the link is down, and even when it is up the other box says their is
not a domain controller to authenticate to. When the link is back up
everyone is happy.

Any ideas?
