I have read up quite a bit on this and I can not get some
local printers to be recognized when I use RDP to connect
from the XP Pro machine (no SP2) to the W2K SP3 machine.
I have 2 printers on the machine, 1 is an LPT1 and one is
USB. The USB is never connected. The port does not
start with a DOT, it starts with USB so MSKB article
302361 does not apply (or work - I tried). At this point
I am wondering, if the problem is SP3 issue (the easy
answer), but, I am also running into the same problem
when connecting at the same location to an SBS 2003
server. On the SBS server, I am able to do Start>Run and
resolve to the shared USB printer (and it tells me that I
need to load the driver on the server). On the W2K SP3 I
am not able to browse to the USB printer using Start>Run
or even browse to the XP Pro. Any help would be great! -
