Re: SCE 2007 Install - SCE databse selection Greyed out at time of install.

Hello Imran,

I think this you should better post to one of the SQL NG's:
microsoft.public.sqlserver.setup
microsoft.public.sqlserver.server
microsoft.public.sqlserver.tools
microsoft.public.sqlserver.clients

Hello Imran,

Also see here:

BTW, installing applications like SQL on a DC is not best practise.
Better install it on member servers, also SCE. This apps are using a
lot of performance which you can miss for the DC functionality.
Normally a DC should only do it's basic tasks like AD/DNS/GC and
maybe DHCP.

Hi

I have install SQL 2005 32bit with SP2 on Server 2008 DC ( Domain
controller ) and I made sure what ever it required for SQL 2005 to
be successful to run on SERVER 2008 Std edition I did.. SQL works
great no issue at all, Reporting service also full configured.

when I run the setup of SCE 2007 on DC where SQL 2005 is installed
all prerequisites test goes successful and when it comes to database
selection all option is grayed out I can not go further..

I have configured the reporting service as suggested..

here is the platform.

SERVER 2008 STD 64 BIT - DOMAIN CONTROLLER ( 4 GB RAM, 2 3.2 GHz
XEON
PROCESSOR HP DL 365 G4)
SQL 2005 STD SP2 INSTALLED AND CONFIGURED REPORTING SERVICE.
SCE 2007 ( I DONT KNOW IF IT IS 32 BIT OR 64 BIT I DOWNLOADED FORM
MY
E OPEN
ACCOUNT THERE WAS NO CHOICE TO SELECT 32 BIT VERSION OR 64 BIT)
PLEASE HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.
THANK YOU.
