Hello Peter,
That in the moment nothing documented solution is to find does not mean there is no one.

So I can't do a repair anymore, like with W2003, I have to do a
restore from a backup with added device drivers?
Really great shame MS doesn't allow an "Upgrade" install of an
existing system

With W2003 when I wanted to move a server onto different hardware I
swapped the disks over and if the new server didn't boot, because of
different disk drivers, I booted off the install CD and did a repair
install.
When I try this with W2008 I can't get the server to run a repair,
if I select the repair options after booting from DVD all I get are
Command Prompt, test memory & restore from backup. If I go into the
main install screen then the "Upgrade" option is grayed out.
Is there any way to get W2008 to run a repair of the HDD disk
drivers when booted from the DVD?
Thanks
Peter Lawton
