RE: Adding an R2 Server as a 2nd DC, won't allow....

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hello,
Thanks for the quick response. My network is a bit simple I would say. Two
sites each with their own subnet. The main site at the moment contains 2
Windows 2003 Standard servers each running as a DC and DNS server. In
addtion there is an older (the original) Windows 2000 SP4 server acting as
both too. Our other site has one Windows 2000 SP4 server acting as the only
DC/DNS, etc server for that location. My intention is to configure this new
2003 R2 server at the main site and then place it in production at the remote
site (obviously changing to a standard static IP related to the new site)
I've never had an issue adding a DC up until now. The issue described in
this thread is exactly what I am experiencing although I've checked the KB
232070 and verified that the users and groups who should be granted
delegation rights are specified in the DC Group Policy.

As requested I have also posted the ipconfig /all on the servers acting as a
DC/DNS from the main site. If you need, I can post the remote site as well.
It should be similar to the older Windows 2000 server on the main site
however.

Hello Joe,

Please describe your network a bit more, how many DC's which versions etc.
Also post an ipconfig /all from the running DC/DNS and the new one you are
trying to add.

I have the same issue but that suggestion did not correct my problem.
I still cannot get the R2 server to get added as a DC.

Does anyone have another suggestion?

Thanks
