Does that mean you currently have a domain (AD)? If so, a migration can
preserve (translate) your permission and profiles and save a lot of legwork
and user dissatisfaction. How many users, computers, servers and what OS /
versions?
I have two questions that I would like to ask.
1) the old server that has all there shared data and file and folder
permissions when i move this I will lose there permissions. Is there a
utility out there that I can run before I move the data capture the
file and folder permissions and on the new server I will just
recreate the permissions?
2) On the employee's workstations/laptops there profile is going to
change
is there a quick and easy way to keep there existing profile when
they log onto the new server? I know that I can copy there desktop
settings, etc. But If there's a better and a quicker way i would love
to know about it.
Thanks,
John
